The Klondike derby is an annual event held during the winter months
and is based on the heritage of the Klondike Gold Rush. The event
typically consists of a series of stations where units test their
Scoutcraft skills and leadership abilities. Units often transport their
gear on a dog sled (self-constructed and pulled by the Scouts)
It is requested that each participating unit submit a registration form with an advance payment of
their “Unit Fee.” This will assist the Klondike Committee in its efforts to prepare for the program. It is
mandatory that we have the patrol names, so advance paperwork can be completed prior to the morning of
the Klondike. If returned on or before the December Roundtable, the Unit Fee will be only $20.00. If
returned after the December Roundtable the Unit Fee will be $30.00. There is a participation fee of $5.00
that will be charged for each Scout, Venturer, Scouter, or non-scouter adult participant. Late registrants will
be charged $8.00 each and will not receive their patches at the Klondike.
